Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

As reported by BoingBoing, Jon Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, have opened a “pay what you can afford” restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey to help families in need. The restaurant, Soul Kitchen, serves wholesome, gourmet food made with fresh ingredients grown in the restaurant’s garden, along with other local produce.

From the website: “A community restaurant with no prices on the menu; customers donate to pay for their meal. If you are unable to donate you may do volunteer work in exchange for your family’s meal.” reports: “The décor is upscale. Patrons don’t wait in line — they are waited on.”

Dear Jon and family, may God continue to richly bless you as he already has. You are one of the few who have truly been blessed by God and turned around and helped your fellow man. You are a true inspiration and example for all to follow. Thank you for a sincere gesture which as you always have, renews our faith in human kind. If every person who saw any thing you do, would take that and pay it forward just once, we would be even a better country than we are. Lots of Love and prayers for you and yours.
