Submission Guidelines – Please Read Carefully

Fiction: Please note that while there are no specific guidelines for length, most pieces of fiction we publish are between 500 and 3,000 words. Please make sure that all submissions are completed and edited–anything that is sent with a note saying your piece is a “work in progress” or “hasn’t been edited yet, just thought you’d like to see what I have so far” will not be considered.

All fiction submissions to be considered for publication at VerbicideMagazine.com should be emailed as a Microsoft Word attachment to fiction editor Ross Parker at fiction(at)verbicidemagazine.com with a mailing address and (optional, but preferred) biographical information in the body of the email–specifically, credentials and previous publication. Previously unpublished authors are encouraged to submit as well!

Features: If you are interested in writing a feature article or conducting an interview, please email features editor Heather Schofner at heather(at)verbicidemagazine.com with a proposal/outline and your writing history and/or credentials.

Art/Photography: Artists and photographers interested in contributing to VerbicideMagazine.com should contact art director Nate Pollard: nate(at)verbicidemagazine.com. Please include samples in your query.

Music Reviews: If you are interested in reviewing albums for Verbicide, please send an email to reviews(at)verbicidemagazine.com with a sample review, a short bio, your favorite types of music/favorite bands, and a mailing address. Verbicide does not publish unsolicited reviews. As of 2009, all reviewers receive downloadable Electronic Press Kits (EPKs).

Labels/bands/PR people — if you would like to submit an album for review — read carefully: Please email your EPKs to reviews(at)verbicidemagazine.com. We will no longer accept CDs for review. We will only accept EPKs that include downloadable MP3s and include cover art, and we will only accept EPKs sent to reviews@verbicidemagazine.com. Please send only one album EPK per email. Emails containing multiple EPKs will be discarded without being opened.

Payment: Monetary compensation is rendered infrequently and is not guaranteed.

A final note about submissions: Verbicide is a great magazine because it does not limit itself by being a genre-specific magazine. While we are open to a wide range of content, you should first familiarize yourself with the publication before submitting. Get a feel for the magazine, and send us something that you think would fit well!
