Miranda Sound is an indie rock band that falls somewhere between Jimmy Eat World and Death Cab for Cutie. With riffs catchy enough to be pop, but weird enough to not be bland, they’ve written some of the catchiest songs since the Promise Ring. To make things interesting they occasionally bring in a cello, using it quite effectively on “Control,” the album’s strongest song. Western Reserve is a breath of fresh sound in a now redundant scene.
