Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day Has an Onstage Meltdown in Las Vegas

While playing the iHeart Radio Festival in Las Vegas last night (alongside Taylor Swift, Usher, Pink, and Rihanna), Green Day’s 45-minute set was cut short to 25 minutes so that Usher could play longer. Vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong lost his mind in the middle of “Basket Case” and said lots of eff words. PUNK ROCK. Watch below. (via Dying Scene)

    Actually Billie Joe, YOU ARE just like Justin Beaber, Usher, Rihanna, and a bunch of others like them. Your ASS is a commodity of the mainstream corporate record and music industry…this isn’t 1988 when you’re playing for crowds who actually cared about the music when you played regularly at 924 Gilman. You’re playing a corporate event (IHeartRadio is owned by Clear Channel) where the music doesn’t mean shit. They care about the bottom dollar…not the music…especially not some song that you released in the 90s. Get used to it Billie Joe…you are getting exactly what you asked for when you signed up with the soulless corporate American music industry.

    Billie Joe Armstrong is so awesome – he didn’t lose his mind at all. In fact I think he was quite composed. Yeah he smashed his guitar but it’s not much different to a lot of their own concerts where Tre lights his drums on fire. For Billie, that wasn’t a melt down – he was just pissed.
