Tony Sly

Via Fat Wreck Chords:

“It is with great sorrow that we must say goodbye to Tony Sly of No Use For A Name. We received a call earlier today of his passing, and are devastated. We have lost an incredible talent, friend, and father – one of the true greats. Fat Mike had this to say: ‘One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed.’”

No other information has yet been disclosed about the death of the front man of long-running punk band, No Use For A Name.

As a fan of NUFAN this news comes as a total shock. I was fortunate enough to meet Tony at an Alkaline Trio show back in the early 2000s in Palo Alto California. Total down to earth guy…super nice. It’s a total shame that the life of someone who has a world of talent has been taken from us at such a young age. You and your art will be missed greatly. RIP.
