Where are you based out of ?
Saxtons River, Vermont.

Your music sounds like?
Funky ukulele jazz rock and drum orchestration. Toe-tapping melodies over a base of solid dynamic rhythms.

How did you discover music as a creative outlet?
I began playing alto sax in fourth grade, but really didn’t appreciate music’s power until my first year in college. A friend gave me  a pair of bongos and I played those drums for about five hours straight. She eventually told me to keep them because I made them sound good. Those drums truly awakened the sleeping musician inside me.

What’s the best part of being an independent musician, and how do you get the message out about your music and connect to fans?
As an indie musician, I get to make my own choices about how I want the music to sound. In essence, I get to be my own boss. I use social networking sites, plus email lists to stay connected with my fan base.

What are your future musical projects and goals?
Play more festivals to spread the Ben Carr Music vibe. New material is always in the works…making plans for the next album.
