Natural Child are a garage rock act hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. They mix a unique blend of Southern flavor with classic rock influences across the board, from T. Rex to The Stooges. This year, at SXSW 2012, they shared a stage with many great acts, most notably at Jack White‘s event that had a line down the street hours before the doors opened. -Ian Jones

So don’t you have three records about to come out at once?
Seth: Our big thing right now is this album called For the Love of the Game coming out on Burger Records on April 20th. That’s our brand new full-length LP. Then we’ve got a reissue of Bodyswitchers. It was our first album. It was supposed to be an EP but ended up being 45 minutes long.
Zack: After all this we’re going to do an album called Hard in Heaven and then we’re going to be releasing a live album.

What’s the best sex you’ve ever gotten because you were in the band Natural Child?
Wes: Mariah Carey. All three of us at once. All three of us got to sleep in a bed with Mariah Carey one time. We didn’t get to do anything, we just laid there all night.
Zack: She just laid there and smiled the whole time.
Seth: She had a California King Size bed and we were there on the foot of it.

Who is the worst drunk?
Seth and Zack: Wes.
Wes: I guess that’s me.
Zack: These are good questions. It’s not that he’s worst.
Seth: It’s not like we don’t like him when he’s drunk — he just does the silliest things.
Wes: It’s not like we have a bad drunk I guess I’m just the craziest. I’m just a wild and crazy guy.

Who showers the least?
Seth: Zack.

I never would have guessed. You look the cleanest.
Zack: Sometimes people are like, “Oh, you smell good,” and I don’t get why they say that.

If you could create a fantasy rock band, who would be on your team?
Wes: Fleetwood Mac, Tom DeLonge, Dave Grohl, Dave Matthews, Tom Morello, and Cheech Marin.
Seth: What was that band we came up with? They were called The New Traveling Wilburys.
Zack: It was Jack White, Pete Wentz, Fat Mike, Billie Joe Armstrong, Billy Corgan, Tim Armstrong — he’s the leader of it all — and the singer from Dropkick Murphys.

What do you guys listen to in the van?
(All three answer in sync): Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and The Stooges.

Do you ever listen to current modern bands?
Wes: Not really. Not any more than we have to. Not unless they’re a really good band. Denney & the Jets are the best band just for the record. We make friends with the best bands in America.

What’s your favorite beer?
Zack: What’s the difference? It all tastes like shit. Lone Star is pretty good. PBR.
Wes: I find myself drinking PBR all the time.

Any words of wisdom?
Wes: Keep on rockin’ in the free world while it’s still free.
