Verbicide Unsigned Spotlight: Hounds & Harlots

We are:
Greg De Hoot – Bass / Vox
Bryan Zimmerman – Guitar / Vox
Cory Cunningham – Drums
Where are you based out of (location)?
San Francisco, CA
Your music sounds like?
The voice of a new society, made up of an eclectic bunch, and are full of vigor. We play the sound track for those who view life as a party, adventure, a gift, and that it should never be spoiled on a bad time.
How did you discover music as a creative outlet?
We each found playing music to be the one thing that continues to inspire us. It has always been there for us, through the good and the bad times. We live and bleed it. We want nothing more in live than to share the stage with our fan/friends and forget about every problem in the world. That to us is utopia.
What’s the best part of being an independent musician, and how do you get the message out about your music and connect to fans?
Best part about being an independent artist is allowing ourselves to write music that truly connects with people. Really speaking our minds, and following our hearts. In terms of connecting with our fans, Joe Strummer said it best, “I think we’re going to have to forget about the radio and just go back to word of mouth.” That’s how we operate, we talk to people, whether its at a show or through social media, like Twitter, Facebook and other sites. People are not dumb, they know if you are being “real” with them. People really believe in this band and what we are trying to do, so much so some have even got our logo tattooed on them!
What are you future musical projects and goals?
To finish our debut full length, and tour NON stop! We are deadly serious about that, 10+ months a year we want to be on the road, nationally and internationally. We believe so much in the band, that we are willing to give up everything to “spread the word” and be out among the other Hounds & Harlots that are with us!
