MINOR STARS – The Death of the Sun in the Silver Sea

reviewed by Hanna Rose

MinorStars MINOR STARS The Death of the Sun in the Silver SeaInstrumentation, instrumentation! You astound me with your noise. The Death of the Sun in the Silver Sea is hard rock for the troubled mind and its soul for the young masses.

As I was touching upon before, I am completely taken aback by the strength of this album. Its not your run-of-the-mill rock these days. You know the type: powered solely by drums and some screamer out front (the likes of which you’re lucky just to get a decent bass line out of, anymore. Sheesh…). Well, Minor Stars, you’ve renewed my faith in the rocker. I’ll admit, it did take me a couple tracks to warm up to The Death of the Sun in the Silver Sea, but by “Numbers Don’t Lie,” I was sold on the album as a whole.

In the end, what you are left with is a well put together and thoughtful album that echoes something long forgotten from the ‘70s but jacked to hell on freshness.
