The English Beat, the 2-Tone ska band you remember from such soundtracks as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Kingpin, and Grosse Point Blanke, are following up their “Spring Skaward Tour” with another batch of dates that will take them across the US for most of the spring and summer. The group, hailing from Birmingham, England, is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the release of their 1980 debut album I Just Can’t Stop It, which included ”Tears of a Clown,” “Mirror In the Bathroom,” “Best Friend”, and”Too Nice to Talk To.”

Dave Wakeling also reports that he is writing new music, and that the band is also planning to record in the near future. Though The English Beat haven’t released a studio album since 1982, they’ve released a Jimi Hendix-esque five “best of” compilations in that time.
