SAVING GRACE – Unbreakable
Not the hardest band you’ve heard, but the four-piece metalcore band from New Zealand Saving Grace can raise a few hairs on back of your neck. The band’s new 12 track album, Unbreakable, was released on January fifth, and includes a few notable highlights. Listen to track five, “Pukelips,” a mix of a decent brutal breakdown, intense vocals, and a lot of creative beats. Track seven, “The Eye of the Storm Part II,” is a two-minute and six-second break that gives listeners a nice transition within the album itself. The songs after this calm break are a little more brutal than those that appear previously, such as “The Listener,” track 10, which starts off with a sweet, slow guitar melody and then turns into a thrashing concussion of sounds.
Saving Grace finishes off the album with its best song, “The Determined Drunk.” Starting off with a kick ass guitar melody, adding deathly metal vocals, and a wicked breakdown, what more could you ask for in a song? Definitely the best song to end this album.
