BRAIN FAILURE – American Dreamer

Punks from China? Sweet! Oh. But wait a minute. This is pretty familiar. Obviously dining on a steady diet of Rancid and Stiff Little Fingers-styled punk rock, these Chinese punks churn out a sing-along, anthemic, and rousing street rock, complete with studded jackets, Mohawks, cut-and-paste graphics, and snarling. These cats slur their way through 15 tunes, mixing it up with the occasional ska tune. Wait. Hmm. They’re getting more “Rancid” as the disc progresses. Double hmm. The singer dude even mumbles his lyrics like Lint does. Triple hmm. This whole album sounds like dropped tracks from Let’s Go! It’s a good album and you’ll enjoy it if you like Rancid. Fun and boppy, but also clone-y.
