ANTI-FLAG – For Blood and Empire

antiflagbloodandempire 150x150 ANTI FLAG For Blood and EmpireHoly cats! Did anyone else see what label this was on? RCA? Sony BMG? I was expecting a kind of washed down, maybe cleaned-up Anti-Flag. What I got was kind of confusing. Yeah, there are still the mad political rants and all that jazz we have come to love and expect from Anti-Flag. But we also got hooks? I guess that’s the best way I can describe it — listen to “The Press Corpse” and I think you might understand. Now, I am by no means saying this is a bad thing; it’s just a little different. Like when you are expecting a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but someone hands you peanut butter and honey. It’s still good, but just a little different. I still like the album; I have liked pretty much all of Anti-Flag’s albums. I would suggest giving this a listen before you buy it, because maybe you won’t like the little differences.
